Where self-adhesive vinyl makes sense

Self-adhesive vinyl is the backbone of cut graphics – fast to apply, removable or long-life, and compatible with most clean, smooth surfaces. We mostly cut SAV for:

  • Retail, Hospitality & Corporate Signage
Branded graphics and signage for commercial spaces.
  • Windows, Glass Partitions & Entry Doors
Window graphics and glass door branding.
  • Vehicle Branding & Fleet Markings
    Vehicle graphics and fleet identification.
  • Wall Slogans, Wayfinding & Safety Graphics
Interior wall graphics and directional signage.
  • POS, Campaign & Seasonal Change-outs
    Point-of-sale displays and promotional campaigns.
  • Industrial Labels, Tags & Panel Markings
    Equipment labels and industrial identification.
  • Floor Markings
Floor graphics using suitable SAV systems.
  • Stencils & Paint Mask Vinyls
    Paint masking and stencil applications.
  • Exhibitions, Events & Brand Activations
    Event graphics and temporary branding.
  • General Signage & Display Projects
Wide range of signage and display applications.

Self-adhesive vinyl characteristics

SAV is a thin, flexible film with an adhesive backing and, usually, a paper or film liner. Different films and adhesives behave differently when cut, weeded and installed. We tune blade type, pressure and speed to match your vinyl type and the detail level in your artwork.

Panels and sheets up to 3000mm x 1500mm

Material properties

  • Cast, calendered and specialty SAV films.
  • Permanent, removable and high-tack adhesives.
  • Gloss, matte, translucent, frosted and specialty finishes.

Best cutting methods

  • Plotter cutting (kiss-cut) for lettering and decals.
  • Digital knife cutting for thicker films and laminated graphics.
  • Carefully set pressures for clean weeding without cutting the liner.

For SAV we avoid laser cutting – it can damage the film and adhesive. Knife and plotter cutting give the best edge and weeding performance.

Panel size & formats

  • Panels and sheets up to 3000mm x 1500mm for sheet work.
  • Roll-fed jobs broken into logical panels for install.
  • We can cut plain coloured SAV or digitally printed vinyl.

SAV Cutting Capabilities

Accuracy, Nesting & Clean Weeding

  • Plotter-cut accuracy suitable for fine lettering and detail.
  • Efficient nesting on roll media for minimum waste.
  • Logical splits for large windows, walls and vehicles.
  • Registration to print marks on digitally printed SAV.

We can work from vector artwork with cut paths, or help clean up supplied files so they are ready for production.

Weeding, Masking & Kitting

  • Weeding of excess vinyl for complex graphics and text.
  • Application tape (pre-mask) applied for easier install.
  • Kitting by window, wall, vehicle or area for on-site efficiency.
  • Packing that protects edges and keeps panels flat and clean.

Our goal is to deliver SAV sets that your install team can pick up, position and apply with minimal sorting or guesswork.

Why specify SAV with Laser Cutting Experts

Graphics-first cutting workflow

Self-adhesive vinyl is thin and unforgiving – every cut and weed line shows. Our workflow is tuned for graphics production, not just generic cutting, so we maintain edge quality and registration.

Designed for installers

Panel splits, weeding and labelling are planned around how signage installers actually work on-site. That means less time hunting for pieces and more time applying graphics cleanly and consistently.

Comfortable with mixed systems

SAV is often used alongside rigid panels, acrylic, aluminium and printed media. Because we cut those too, we can help align panel sizes, joins and bleed across the whole kit.

Trade-friendly for sign shops & agencies

We regularly work as a wholesale cutting partner for sign companies, print shops and agencies. Clear files, predictable turnaround and consistent quality are the focus, not competing for your end clients.

More about stencil vinyl / paint mask cutting and design

Open the items below for more detail on designing and using paint mask films in real-world projects.

When designing stencils, avoid very fine bridges and islands that can lift during weeding or painting. Increase stroke weights on very thin lettering, think about overspray and bleed areas, and plan for how the stencil will be aligned — registration marks, centre marks and reference lines can save you a lot of time on site.

Smooth ACM, glass and painted metal usually work well with standard stencil vinyl. Rough concrete, asphalt or textured walls may need a more aggressive adhesive or a different stencil approach. Always test on your actual surface and paint system before committing to large runs.

Stencil vinyl is typically rolled or shipped flat, depending on size and application method. For multi-site or multi-bay projects, we can label and bundle panels by site, level or bay number so installers know exactly where each stencil goes.

Most stencil vinyl and paint mask jobs dispatch in 1–5 business days once artwork, film type and quantities are confirmed. Larger rollouts and intricate artwork may take longer, but we will confirm realistic timeframes before you commit.

DXF/DWG preferred; AI/SVG/PDF (vector) accepted. Units in mm; outline text; include registration marks. Upload via the instant quote.

Whether you need a handful of stencils for a local project or a full paint mask kit for a national rollout, our vinyl plotter and digital knife workflow is set up for trade-ready results and predictable lead times. Upload your files or contact us to plan your next stencil vinyl cutting project.

Typical applications include car park stencils, warehouse line marking, safety markings, logo stencils, decorative paint effects and temporary event graphics. We work with line markers, painters, facilities managers and contractors across all sectors.
