ACM thickness guide

Aluminium Composite Panel is a sandwich of thin aluminium skins on a composite core. For signage and light cladding work, most jobs use standard signage-grade ACM. The table below reflects typical panel thicknesses used in practice — we always confirm specific brands and grades when quoting.

Sheet Size

ACM sheets are typically supplied in signage and cladding-friendly stock sizes. Our CNC beds are sized for full boards, with nesting layouts designed to minimise waste and keep tray blanks and panels consistent.

We supply flat ACM parts only. Folding, pressing and on-site installation are handled by your metal shop, cladding installer or sign fitter.

For ACM tray blanks, keep fold lines away from cut-outs and fixings, allow for corner details that suit your fabricator (mitred, cropped or dog-bone style), and confirm returns, folds and clearances up front. Clean drawings with separate layers for cut and groove operations make fabrication faster and reduce rework.

ACM is lighter and often more economical than solid aluminium for fascias and sign panels, but it behaves differently at edges and folds.
