Why choose this service?

Built for flat sheet production

Dialled-in tooling and feeds for accurate flat parts in timber, ACM, plastics and composites — ideal for signage, joinery and architectural work.

Perfect for signage & joinery

Route full sign panels, ACM façades, cabinet parts, bulkheads, lightbox trays and feature walls straight from your CAD files.

Pockets, rebates and profiles

Cut outer profiles, drill holes and add rebates, countersinks and pockets in a single process, saving hand work and assembly time.

Cost-effective on full sheets

Nesting your parts across standard sheets reduces waste and keeps per-part costs sharp on both small and large runs.

Consistent, repeatable results

Digital workflows and fixture strategies mean your second, third and twentieth batch all match the first — ideal for rollouts and multi-site projects.

Trade-ready workflow

We understand site dates, install windows and construction programs — with clear tolerances, labelling and packaging to keep projects moving.

More about CNC router cutting

Open the items below for detailed guidance on CNC router cutting of timber, ACM, plastics and composite panels, and best practice for flat parts used in signage, joinery and construction.

A CNC router uses a high-speed spindle and carbide tooling to machine flat sheet materials with excellent repeatability. It's ideal when you need more than a profile cut — such as holes, slots, pockets, rebates, chamfers or engraving — all in one setup. For signage and joinery, routing is often the most efficient way to produce accurate panels at scale from CAD files.

In-house we typically route plywood and MDF from 6–32 mm, ACM at 3–4 mm, compact laminate around 6–13 mm, plus a range of plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate and HDPE. Foam boards and lightweight cores also machine well. Some dense, abrasive or brittle sheets may require specific tooling — if you're unsure, send us the material spec and we'll confirm suitability before cutting.

Because router tools are round, internal corners will always have a radius equal to the tool diameter. If you need a sharp internal corner for a slot or tab, design in a relief (e.g. dog-bone) or allow a radius. Typical production tolerances are around ±0.2–0.5 mm depending on material, thickness and part size. For thin webs, narrow tabs or very small features, tell us what's critical so we can select tooling and hold-down strategy appropriately.

DXF/DWG and AI/SVG are ideal; clean vector PDF is also workable. Draw in millimetres at 1:1 scale, close all shapes, remove duplicates and keep linework clean. Use layers/colours to separate through-cuts, pockets and drill holes where possible. If pockets are required, include depth notes in the drawing or as a separate instruction so we can program the CAM correctly.

Pricing is driven by material, thickness, tool time, number of operations (profiles, pockets, drilling), tool changes and nesting efficiency. Full-sheet nests of repeat parts are usually most economical. Typical dispatch is 1–5 business days after artwork approval, with rush options available for time-critical rollouts.

Our CNC router cutting service in Sydney is built for signmakers, joiners, shopfitters, designers, and manufacturers who need accurate sheet parts with tight repeatability. By combining smart nesting with dialled-in tooling for each material, we produce parts that often go straight into assembly and installation with minimal hand finishing.

Typical applications include ACM panels, sign trays, cabinet parts, shopfitting components, bulkheads, feature walls, display panels, templates and jigs. We work with everyone from design studios and agencies through to fabricators, installers and end users who need a production partner.

Whether you need a single prototype panel or a full rollout of CNC-routed components, routing is usually the most efficient way to produce flat parts with pockets, rebates and fixing details. FAQ

DXF / DWG / AI / SVG / PDF (vector). Draw in mm at 1:1, keep geometry clean and closed, and use layers or colours to separate through-cuts, pockets and drilling where possible.

Plywood, MDF, particleboard, melamine panels, ACM / Alucobond, compact laminate, solid surface and many plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate and HDPE are ideal. We can advise whether your specific sheet is suitable for routing.

Our CNC router bed handles sheets up to around 3000 × 1500 mm. Larger pieces can often be split into tiles and joined in fabrication or on site.

Most production work runs at around ±0.2–0.5 mm depending on material, thickness and part size. Let us know if you have critical dimensions so we can confirm what is realistic.

Yes. We stock common board sizes in plywood, MDF, ACM, compact laminate and plastics, or we can cut from customer-supplied sheets where suitable and safe.

Typical dispatch is 1–5 business days after artwork approval, depending on material availability and workload. Rush options may be available for urgent projects.
