Industries we work with for particleboard / chipboard

We cut particleboard (particle board) and chipboard sheets for cabinetry, joinery and signage work where a cost-effective substrate is required. Flat parts only — no assembly or edging in-house. CNC cutting is tuned for trade workflows so boards land in your workshop ready for drilling, edging and install.

Particleboard / chipboard thickness guide

Particleboard / particle board and chipboard are available in several standard thicknesses. In cabinetry, joinery and signage, the most common ranges are shown below. Exact availability depends on supplier and finish (raw, melamine-faced, etc.) and is confirmed at quote stage.

Common board thicknesses used in practice
Board thickness (approx.) Typical use
≈ 12 mm Back panels, dividers, lightweight panels and substrates.
≈ 16 mm Common carcass components, shelving and general joinery parts.
≈ 18 mm Benchtop cores, robust shelving and higher-duty cabinetry parts.
≈ 25 mm and above Thicker worktops, plinths and heavy-duty structural panels.

*Thicknesses above are indicative for particleboard / particle board / chipboard sheets used in joinery, fitout and signage work. If your project specifies a particular board, grade or finish, include that in your enquiry so we can confirm availability and the most suitable cutting strategy before quoting.

Sheet Size

We can cut particleboard and chipboard sheets up to 3000 × 1500 mm — matching full standard board sizes. Nesting layouts are planned to minimise waste while keeping parts logical for assembly.

We focus on flat particleboard / particle board / chipboard cutting. If you plan to edge-band, laminate or assemble into cupboards and fixtures, we can supply accurately cut parts ready for your workshop.

Why use our particleboard / chipboard cutting service?

Set up for cabinet and panel work

We regularly cut particleboard / particle board carcass parts, shelves and panels for joiners and shopfitters, so our workflows, tooling and nesting strategies are tuned for real joinery requirements — not just one-off jobs.

Full sheet utilisation up to 3000 × 1500 mm

Our CNC router bed handles full 3000 × 1500 mm boards, so you can send full-sheet layouts and let us optimise nests, reducing waste and time on your side.

CNC-only approach — no laser on chipboard

Lasers and chipboard don't mix well due to glues, smoke and edge quality. We do not laser cut particleboard or chipboard — everything is done on CNC routers for clean edges and safer processing.

Trade-ready workflow

Clear specs for board sizes, drilling and labelling, plus realistic lead times and repeatable setups, so your workshop can drop parts straight into edge-banding and assembly.

More about particleboard / chipboard cutting & design

Open the items below for more detail on particleboard cutting, particle board cutting, chipboard cutting and design tips for CNC-routed board parts.

For particleboard / particle board carcass parts and shelves, keep fixing holes a sensible distance from edges, allow enough material around hinges and hardware, and consider standardising shelf widths where possible so nests are efficient. We can review your DXF or cut list and flag any details that might cause issues in production.

16–18 mm boards are common for carcasses and general shelving; 25 mm and above are better for worktops, plinths and heavy-duty shelves. If you share span and loading information, we can suggest which board thickness is more practical before you commit to a run.

We stack and strap CNC-cut particleboard / chipboard parts to keep edges protected in transit. Once on site or in your shop, keep boards dry and stored flat before edge-banding or assembly. If you need panels palletised or grouped per cabinet or room, mention this and we can pack accordingly.

Most particleboard / chipboard cutting jobs dispatch in 1–5 business days once drawings, material and quantities are confirmed. Larger kit runs or complex nested jobs may take longer, but we'll confirm realistic timeframes up front so you can schedule assembly and installation with confidence.

DXF/DWG preferred; AI/SVG/PDF (vector) accepted. Units in mm; include hardware positions and cut lists. Upload via the instant quote.
