Where we fit into shopfitting & interiors projects

Laser Cutting Experts is set up as a behind-the-scenes production partner for shopfitters, joinery workshops, signage companies and interior design studios. We cut flat panels and components from your drawings, then pack and label them logically so your installers can get in, build, and get out on programme.

Retail & flagship stores

Wall cladding, gondolas, POS plinths, lightbox faces and fascia panels cut to suit joinery, signage and lighting details. Ideal for chains, franchises and national rollouts.

Hospitality & venues

Bar fronts, overhead features, acoustic panels, ceiling rafts and statement pieces in acrylic, plywood, MDF, felt and composites.

Workplace & commercial interiors

Reception signage, joinery cladding, screening, workstation components and decorative features delivered as flat kits ready to assemble.

Materials we cut for shopfitting & interiors

We work with the main sheet materials used in Australian fitouts and interiors. All cutting is flat only – no folding, rolling or forming in-house. Boards must fit within our 1500mm x 3000mm bed size and be suitable for laser, CNC router or digital knife cutting.

Flat boards up to 1500mm x 3000mm

Plastics & composites

  • Acrylic (cast & extruded) — illuminated features, fascia letters, lenses.
  • PVC foamboard / Forex — light panels, infills, display backs.
  • ACM (aluminium composite panel) — fascias, cladding, bulkheads.
  • Polycarbonate & PETG — clear guards and protective screens.

Timber-based panels

  • MDF and moisture resistant MDF — joinery, bulkheads, wall panels.
  • Plywood (birch & hardwood) — decorative and structural applications.
  • Laminated boards — pre-finished panels cut to size and shape.

Metals & specialty

  • Aluminium and stainless steel — trims, plates, feature elements.
  • Mild steel — brackets and backing plates.
  • Acoustic felt and foams — baffles, rafts, wall panels (flat only).

Typical Parts We Cut for Shopfitting & Interiors

Every project is different, but the parts below show where we usually fit into shopfitting and interior scopes. You design and detail the system; we cut repeatable components and kits that fit your programme.

Front-of-House & Customer Areas

  • Reception and bar fronts, feature walls and ceiling rafts
  • Router-cut logo backers, illuminated sign faces and trims
  • POS plinths, risers, podiums and display components
  • Menu boards, wayfinding panels and branded inserts

Back-of-House & Support Areas

  • Cabinet carcass parts, shelves and dividers (flat cut only)
  • Service panels, access hatches and removable covers
  • Acoustic and privacy screens in felt, timber and composites
  • Mounting plates, stiffeners and backing panels for services

Capabilities for Shopfitting & Interior Work

Accuracy, Scale & Board Size

  • Laser and CNC router cutting on beds built around boards up to 1500mm x 3000mm.
  • Flat panels only — no bending, folding, rolling or press work in-house.
  • Suitable for detailed interior joinery, feature panels and sign components.
  • Repeatable results for rollouts, prototypes and multi-stage fitout programmes.

For complex projects, we can work from your panel schedules and shop drawings, then confirm board usage and nesting so you know exactly how parts will be produced and packed.

Finishes & Integrated Services

  • Clean cut edges ready for on-site painting, staining or laminating.
  • Option for UV direct printing on acrylic, ACM, PVC foam and some plywood substrates.
  • Support for illuminated features — backing plates, faces and acrylic components.
  • Bundling with signage and graphics where required (through associated facilities).

Because we are part of a broader signage and fabrication group, we can coordinate printed graphics, router-cut letters and backing panels in the same workflow, reducing handling and coordination for your project team.

Why shopfitters and interior teams work with us

Fitout-friendly scheduling

Fitout projects move quickly. We plan cutting batches so materials arrive when installers need them, and we communicate clearly if anything needs to shift. The goal is simple: avoid holding up other trades.

Logical labelling & packing

Components can be labelled and packed by area, level or zone so on-site teams are not digging through unmarked stacks of parts. This is especially important on multi-level and multi-store rollouts.

Support across multiple materials

Modern interiors mix acrylic, timber, metal, ACM, foams and acoustic materials. We cut all of these flat on the same set of machines, so your team deals with one supplier for most of the sheet work.

Set up for repeat programmes

Once we have your standard details and part libraries dialled in, repeat stores and refurbishments become faster to quote and produce, with board usage and packing already proven.

Design Tips for Laser & CNC Cut Interiors

Small changes to details can make a big difference when cutting and installing boards up to 1500mm x 3000mm. These guidelines help keep fabrication efficient and installation smooth.

Details and Tolerances

  • Allow practical gaps and tolerances around walls, ceilings and existing services.
  • Consider how panels will be brought into the space — long boards may need to be split.
  • Make fixing and bracket positions clear on drawings to avoid rework on site.
  • Group similar parts and panels in your drawings to simplify nesting and labelling.

Material and Finish Choices

  • Choose materials suited to cleaning, wear and light levels in each area.
  • Match acrylic thickness, ACM grade and timber substrates to span and fixing centres.
  • Plan for access to services and future maintenance — use removable panels where possible.
  • Talk to us early if you want to combine cutting with UV printing or other finishing steps.

How we work with shopfitters & interior teams

A simple workflow designed around real projects, from one-off flagships to multi-site rollouts.

1. Brief & drawings

Share scope, timelines, panel schedules and typical details. We review what is best suited to laser, CNC router or digital knife cutting.

2. Pricing & options

We price based on materials, board usage (up to 1500mm x 3000mm), cutting time and packing requirements, highlighting any value-engineering options.

3. Files & nesting

You supply final files or we help refine them, then we nest for yield and agree on labelling and packing conventions by area or store.

4. Cutting & QC

Parts are cut, checked against key dimensions and grouped into logical kits for dispatch to your warehouse or site.

5. Delivery & support

We coordinate delivery windows and can support repeat orders, extra stores or replacement parts as your programme progresses.

We are a production partner, not a design studio. You or your designers provide drawings and specifications, and we focus on accurately cutting, packing and delivering the flat components to suit your scheme.

Yes. We regularly cut acrylic faces, backing plates, ACM trays and trims for illuminated features and signage. If required, we can coordinate with your signage or electrical contractors to ensure parts are compatible with their systems.

The focus of this service is cutting, packing and delivering flat components. For many projects our associated signage and fabrication teams can assist with installation of signage and some feature elements, but general shopfitting and joinery installation is usually handled by your own crews or subcontractors.

The earlier the better, particularly for large or multi-site programmes. If we can see proposed materials, thicknesses and panel layouts in the tender or early design stages, we can flag any issues with board size, nesting efficiency or installation that might affect cost or timing.

Our machines are set up around flat boards up to 1500mm x 3000mm. Most common Australian sheet sizes fit within this envelope. If you are working with oversized panels, talk to us before ordering material so we can confirm how they will be handled and if splitting is required.
